PRIVACY POLICY

Introduction

Vehicle Distributors Australia Pty. Ltd. ABN 11 073 668 596 ("Renault") respects and upholds your rights under the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) ("Privacy Act"). The National Privacy Principles apply to us from their introduction in late 2001.

This policy describes how we manage any personal information we have about you.

What personal information about you does Renault hold?

Renault may hold the following information about you:

  • Name, address, telephone number(s);
  • Vehicle purchase date;
  • Vehicle details;
  • Name of selling dealer;
  • Any additional information you provide, such as when you contact our Customer Relations Department, log in to our web site, or call us for roadside assistance; and
  • Any information you may provide to us.

What does Renault do with your personal information?

We use your personal information for the purposes of –

  • Fulfilling our ongoing obligations (including warranty, recall and roadside assistance) to you as the owner/driver of a vehicle we have imported and distributed; or
  • Forwarding you further information regarding the Renault vehicle range and our dealers, organising test drive, and/or responding to any inquiries or comments that you submit to us.

We may also use it for customer service requirements, direct mail, market research, and product development purposes.

At any time you may opt out of receiving any communications from us (other than as required for our primary purposes or by law). To do so call Freecall 1800 009 008.

Who will Renault disclose your personal information to?

Renault may disclose your personal information on a confidential basis to:

  • The advisors, consultants and contractors it ordinarily engages for the above purposes;
  • Its related companies; or
  • One or more of our dealers on condition that they use it for the same purposes as set out above and only in connection with the Renault franchise.

Renault will take responsible steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

OPENNESS

You may request access to personal information we hold about you by contacting the Manager Customer Service at the address below. Where we hold information that you are entitled to access, we will endeavour to provide you with a suitable range of choices as to how access is provided (e.g. Emailing or mailing it to you).

If at any time you believe that personal information we hold about you is incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate, then you may request amendment of it, and we will either amend the information or make a record of your comment, as we think appropriate.

RENAULT WEBSITE

In general you can visit the Renault website without telling us who you are. The amount of information that you provide to Renault will depend on the range and number of services that you choose to use. Particular sections of the Renault website may require you to provide Renault with personal information, including your name and email address. Personal information will only be requested if it is necessary to provide a service to you or if it is necessary by law to collect the information.

We do not currently use cookies on our website to collect personal information about you.

By using the Renault website you agree that the Internet is inherently insecure and that accordingly we can only use our best endeavours to secure your personal information and cannot provide any definitive assurance regarding security of personal information. Other than liability which cannot lawfully be excluded, Renault will not be liable in any way in relation to any breach of security or any unintended loss or disclosure of that information.

MISCELLANEOUS

In this policy "personal information" has the same meaning as under the Privacy Act.

This policy is effective from 21 December 2001. We may change this policy from time to time. Although we intend to observe this policy at all times, it is not legally binding on Renault in any way. From time to time, we may regard it as necessary or desirable to act outside the policy. Renault may do so, subject only to any other applicable contractual rights you have and any statutory rights you have under the Privacy Act or other applicable legislation.



COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS


$1000 Discount on purchase of a Renault or $1000 shopping at Westfield

  1. Renault offers you a $1,000 discount on the purchase of your new Renault or Westfield Gift Cards to the value of $1,000 ("the offer") if you take a test drive of a Renault passenger vehicle requested through this Westfield campaign ("campaign test drive") and purchase a new Renault passenger vehicle from a Renault Centre between 1st September 2007 ("start date") and 31st December 2007 (except for the Renault Scenic dCi Diesel where this offer will remain valid between 1st September 2007 and 31st January 2008) ("end date") ("offer period"). You choose the discount or Gift Cards at the time of purchase. If chosen, Gift Cards will be delivered after delivery of your new Renault.
  2. To be eligible for the offer, you must be 18 years or above, residing in Australia, a holder of a current valid driver’s licence of an Australian state or territory and able to meet all usual test drive qualification criteria imposed by Renault or individual Renault Centre (if any).
  3. To request a campaign test drive, you must first complete a test drive request form which you can obtain from selected Westfield shopping centres and then submit the form to a Renault representative in attendance at each participating shopping centre during the offer period.   
  4. Your local Renault Centre will then contact you to arrange for the campaign test drive.  The campaign test drive is subject to the usual test drive qualification criteria and other terms and conditions imposed by Renault or the relevant Renault Centre and availability of appointment and the test drive model at the relevant Renault Centre.
  5. Westfield Gift Cards are redeemable at participating Westfield retailers.  Expiry date and Westfield Gift Card Terms & Conditions apply.
  6. Renault reserves the right to withdraw, vary, extend or suspend any offer.
  7. The offer excludes fleet and government buyers.
  8. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, Renault (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the offer, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under Renault’s control); (b) any campaign test drive request that is late, lost, damaged, misdirected, invalid, defective (due to incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information you have provided), or incomplete (whether or not after their receipt by Renault) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of Renault; (c) any variation in offer to that stated in these Terms and Conditions.
  9. Renault collects your personal information in order to conduct the campaign and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to its group and affiliated companies, associates, agents, dealers, sub-contractors and certain third parties including (without limitation to) Australian regulatory authorities.  Unless otherwise advised, Renault may also use the information for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes including sending electronic messages.  You may ask us for details of the personal data that we hold on you and can require us to correct it if appropriate.
