Unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, with over 6.5 million sold globally since it first launched, the all-new Megane is now available for sale in Australia. Combining French design and attention to detail with European technology, engineering and driving dynamics, the new Megane bring the flair and performance the segment has been waiting for.
All-new Megane is immediately recognizable as the latest creation of the Renault design philosophy ‘Emotion in Motion’. The bold front grille, signature LED ‘C’ shape running lights and wide front track give it a distinctive muscular stance.
“One of our best known nameplates in Australia and yet another of our core models that has been completely reinvigorated. It joins our recently launched Koleos medium SUV, ensuring Renault has all-new players in two of the most competitive segments.
“The all-new Megane offers something for everyone, with each variant infused with Renault’s award-winning global design ethos. Its array of sophisticated technology is usually seen in more prestige vehicles and we are confident the all-new Megane will be a hit with Australians seeking superior levels of style, refinement and driving dynamics, all packaged at a highly competitive value proposition.” Says Justin Hocevar, Managing Director of Renault Australia.
All-new Megane GT
For the driving enthusiast, the Megane GT features the award-winning Renault Sport developed ENERGY TCe205 turbo charged engine delivering 151 kilowatts and 280 Newton metres of torque.
Renault’s Formula 1 experience is evident across all aspects of the Megane GT and with 4CONTROL four wheel steering, it’s one of the world’s most agile hot hatches. At low speeds, 4CONTROL turns the rear wheels in the opposite direction to the front wheels. Above 80 km/h both sets of wheels turn in the same direction. The result is unparalleled grip for optimal road holding. It’s steering you can feel.
Interior of the All-new Megane
The cabin exudes an unmistakable ‘cockpit’ feel, with comfort enhanced even further through the careful attention paid to the interior finish. The new R-LINK2 system features a standard seven inch landscape screen on all variants that controls multimedia, navigation and a number of other vehicle functions. In the GT-Line and GT variants, this screen also controls the new MULTI-SENSE system, which adjusts the vehicle’s dynamic responses and allows a high degree of personalisation as well as ambient cabin lighting.
