Renault LCV Australia is launching a Green Van Plan aimed at further reducing the environmental impact of its highly efficient diesel engines.
Adding even more reasons to choose a Renault Trafic medium-sized van, the Bamboo Green Trafic provides carbon offset through not-for-profit Greenfleet.
Greenfleet will plant enough native trees to absorb the carbon emissions of 30,000km travelled per van per year for the first seven years of every Bamboo Green Trafic van sold. That’s 6-tonnes of CO2 per year.
This is great news for businesses with an environmental mindset, and greater news for the environment itself. Adding even more benefit, Renault also plan to make sure the Bamboo Green Trafic is the most affordable in our fleet.
“We are pleased to be able to provide buyers of Bamboo Green Renault Trafic vans with both a financial and ethical incentive to go green,” said Justin Hocevar, Renault Australia Managing Director.
Trafic’s fuel efficient engine is best in class
According to Delivery Magazine, at 6.2-Litres per 100km, the already impressively low official fuel consumption of the Trafic is 20% more fuel efficient than other vehicles in the medium-sized van class.
“Vehicle emissions are significant contributors to urban air pollution,” says Hovecar. “Vehicle manufacturers have a social responsibility to minimise the impact of their products on the environment. Renault takes this responsibility seriously.”
With the environment in mind, our engineers think about efficiency in every aspect of the vehicle design. Our low-resistance tyres with their aerodynamic styling reduce drag while the electric power steering on all models and Stop&Start technology on Twin Turbo models also keeps driving costs down.
Eco Mode is standard in every model and influences engine torque, power management and gear change anticipation to help lower fuel consumption by up to 10%. ESM (Energy Smart Management) uses a regenerative braking system to recover kinetic energy when braking and decelerating to help save even more fuel.
“We are confident there will be many customers keen to be a part of our Green Van Plan and even if customers choose another colour Trafic they will be reducing overall emissions thanks to our efficient and frugal engines” says Lyndon Healey, Renault LCV Model Line Manager.
Driving climate corporate social responsibility
“Many of our customers’ businesses have their own sustainability agenda,” says Lyndon. “Buying a green Trafic tells their customers that they care enough to be seen to be taking some positive action to reduce their own environmental impact.”
The Trafic has other great features including large sideview mirrors, parking sensors, mid or long wheelbase, 5.2m load space, a large payload at 1.2 tonnes and rear loading with forklift access. The capped fixed price servicing every 30,000km beats the industry standard of 10,000km. This is also maximum distance a Trafic should travel between service intervals, with one annual service being the most an owner should need.
Hailed as a standout in terms of its comfort, handling and practicality by Delivery Magazine Editor Chris Mullet, the Trafic is an excellent commercial vehicle choice.
Renault is proud to partner with Greenfleet, Australia’s most trusted source of biodiverse carbon offsets. Greenfleet has planted more than 8.7 million native trees - restoring more than 425 native and biodiverse forests across Australia and New Zealand since 1997.
