That’s why we incorporate active safety features like ABS, EBA, EBD, ASR and ESP across specific models in the Renault range.

If an accident does happen, every Renault cabin offers two lines of passive protection. First, the outer cabin has built-in crumple zones that are programmed to ensure that the car absorbs the impact, not you. And second, the cabin itself is designed as a survival module. Its solid but impact-absorbent structure gives all occupants maximum protection.

Then, of course, there’s our in-cabin safety. Here Renault’s famous System for Restraint and Protection (SRP) comes into its own, combining adaptive seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters, plus six airbags.

Though perhaps the best example of our attitude to safety is the simplest. Better visibility.

Safety is such an ingrained part of Renault philosophy that even our stylists instinctively maximize the glass area in their designs, making sure you always have a good, safe view of the road.

All of which explains why more of our models have been awarded the maximum Five-Star safety rating for impact protection by Euro NCAP than any other carmaker. Including Mercedes and Volvo.

If you’re not sure how significant that is, consider this. Euro NCAP is a totally independent body – it even purchases cars anonymously for testing. And when it tests them, it goes way beyond the already high European standards. A five-star rating is the ultimate. And we’ve got eight of them, including four of the models available in Australia.
