5 questions to ask when buying a new car

You’ve probably seen pictures and read reviews online, but the most important questions to ask are when you head into a Renault dealer. Let’s imagine you’ve got your heart set on a sporty hatch, the Renault Megane GT perhaps? Here’s what to ask to ensure you get the right car to suit your needs.

What am I looking for in a car?

If you know what you’re looking for in a car, this will make things easier for you and will also help the dealer find the vehicle or model that suits you best. So the more you know, the quicker they can match you up. If it’s power you’re after, you might be interested in the R.S. range, but if a little luxury is what you’re looking for the dealer may recommend the GT-Line.

Can I have a test drive?

While the internet can be a great tool for research, the only way you’ll really know if you like a car is by getting behind the wheel. And when you do get behind the wheel, be sure to ask your dealer to show you all the extra features that go into a Renault, like the R-link Enhanced Satellite Navigation system.

What’s the Warranty?

Your car may be one of the biggest investments you make, so it’s important you feel comfortable with the warranty. Always ask what type of coverage you’ll receive and remember not all warranties are the same. For instance, the Renault Megane comes with a 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty, 5-years roadside assist and 3 capped price services.

Where is my nearest authorised service centre?

While you may love your new car, traveling across town to get it serviced can be a hassle. Thankfully Renault dealers all have service centres and with over 50 around the country you’ll always find one near by.

Can I add accessories?

Not every car may come with exactly what you’re looking for. At Renault, we offer hundreds of accessories and extra features on every vehicle. So if the car you’ve got your eye on is missing that special something, ask your dealer and they’ll be more than happy to see if it’s available.
