Limited Edition Clio R.S. 220 Trophy Arrives in Australia

After the unveiling of the model at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Renault’s much-anticipated Clio R.S. 220 EDC Trophy is now available for sale in Australia.

“The limited edition Clio R.S. 220 EDC Trophy offers buyers an enhanced driving experience and the opportunity to get their hands on something that will no doubt be highly sought-after, with a limited number of just 220 arriving in the country,” says Justin Hocevar, Managing Directory of Renault Australia.

“The Clio R.S. range has been extremely popular in the Australian market so we’re very pleased to be able to expand the range with this limited edition and offer something special to Australian buyers.”

Compared to the Clio R.S. 200 EDC, the new model has 10% more power and sharper performance thanks to new engine mapping, a larger turbo, a revised exhaust system which accommodates a Euro6 catalytic converter, and an intake system designed to minimize back pressure losses. The Clio R.S. 220 Trophy packs an extra 15KW and up to 40Nm more torque, with enhanced EDC transmission and a sportier chassis.

A host of other refinements makes the driving experience faster, more direct and more precise. The enhanced transmission makes gear changes 30% faster, the chassis has been stiffened and sits lower, ‘Sport’ mode gives even greater flexibility in combining city and country driving, and – for the first time in Australia – Stop&Start technology is offered alongside EDC transmission as standard on the limited edition vehicle.

The improvements are not all just under the hood, however. In addition to new 18-inch diamond cut Radicale wheels, the Trophy edition comes in a new Frost White hero body colour, with a contrasting gloss black roof. (The car will also be available in Glacier White, Deep Black, Flame Red and the iconic Liquid Yellow.) Inside, heated leather sports seats, an embossed leather trim steering wheel, Trophy badging on the front spoiler, door trims and individually numbered door sills all give the limited edition an exciting, distinctive new look.

“Renault Sport vehicles have proven to be hugely successful in Australia, the second highest selling market globally for the current Clio R.S. with over 1,400 sold since the late 2013 launch,” says Hocevar. “I am sure that this new limited edition will continue that trend and further boost our sales.”

To celebrate the Trophy’s 220 horsepower output, only 220 of the limited edition vehicles will be sold in Australia, available from December 3rd and priced from $39,990.
