  • All new Captur light SUV arrives Q1
  • All-new Arkana small SUV scheduled for H2
  • Updated Megane R.S. remains part of line-up

Renault Australia has today restated its long-term commitment to the Australian market with the confirmation of two SUVs joining the line-up.

The all-new Captur light SUV and Arkana small SUV will be part of the Renault Australia range in 2021.

Renault also confirmed the critically acclaimed Megane R.S. hot hatch would remain a part of the Australian motoring scene.

“The Australian motoring landscape has changed dramatically in the past 12 months, but Renault is here for the long haul,” said Renault Australia Managing Director Anouk Poelmann.

“It’s an exciting time to be part of the Renault brand.

“Globally, we are now under the leadership of new CEO Luca de Meo, a true automotive visionary with a passion for all things auto related.

“Locally, we are very proud to announce the addition of two exciting new SUVs to the Renault Australia line-up,” said Poelmann.

Renault Australia Senior Product Manager Charly Clercin said the two new SUVs represented the latest in Renault design and technology.

“The all-new Captur has been a huge success in the overseas markets where it has already launched.

“A cutting edge urban SUV, the all-new Captur will come fully loaded with a powerful but efficient turbocharged 1.3-litre petrol engine, technology including wireless smart phone replication and charging and five-star safety.”

Clercin said the all-new Captur will launch in early 2021 with a three-model line-up: Life, Zen and Intens.

It will be joined in the second half of the year by the all-new Arkana small SUV.

“The all-new Arkana is a new generation of SUV for Australia and destined to become a segment breaker with its distinctive design, combining the creature comforts of an SUV with sedan driving dynamics.

“Like the all-new Captur, the all-new Arkana will come loaded with technology, comfort and five-star safety. With its distinctive coupe SUV design, it has all the elements to be a success here in Australia,” said Clercin.

In addition to the two new SUVs, Renault Australia confirmed updated versions of the Megane R.S. hot hatch and Koleos mid-sized SUV would arrive in Australia next year.

Further details about the new models, including final specification and pricing, will be announced closer to launch.
