“Electric vehicles form the only practical and affordable solution in existence today to our planet’s transport-related environmental challenges.”
Carlos Ghosn, President and CEO of Groupe Renault
Go Further with Renault’s Electric Vehicles. Renault is proud to offer two affordable electric vehicles. New Renault ZOE has a driving range of 400km NEDC or a 300km practical driving range. The new Kangoo Z.E. achieves a driving range of 270km NEDC or 200km in real-world driving.
Renault Z.E. vehicles are very simple to charge, simply plug them in to an EV charging unit.
ZOE and the on-board Chameleon Charger © ensure you make the most of the power available and with power of 22kW, you can have a full recharge in under 3hours.
Kangoo can charge up with 7kW delivering, 33km of range during a lunch hour or a full recharge overnight.
Choose the charging station which suits your vehicle and needs best, from our Z.E. ready certified infrastructure partner JetCharge.
Every vehicle provides a NEDC range – this is standard test used for comparing the fuel consumption of different models and manufacturers under the same ideal conditions. As vehicle range can vary due to several external factors Renault also provides practical summer and winter range figures.
|New European Driving Cycle (NEDC)||Practical Summer Range||Practical Winter Range|
The range of the vehicle is affected by 4 key factors:
It’s as simple as just plugging it in. Charging can be done anywhere - either using private infrastructure e.g. a wall box installed at your home or place of work, or a public charge spot e.g. in a car park or shopping centre.
Charging an electric vehicle can vary depending on the charge unit and the vehicle.
|A full recharge (0-100%)||Standard charge with 7kW||Standard charge with 22kW|
|Kangoo Z.E.||6 hours||6 hours|
|ZOE||7-8 hours||3 hours|
At home/office – ZOE and Kangoo Z.E. can be plugged into a Wall Box delivering either 7kW or 22kW. Renault recommends the installation of a Z.E. Ready certified wall box for your private charging needs. In Europe, electric vehicle drivers rely almost entirely on their privately installed Wall Box. In public – there is a growing network of compatible and publicly accessible charging points for electric vehicle drivers.
Renault insists that its charging partners are Z.E. Ready certified, to ensure that both wall box and installation are compatible with the Renault electric vehicle that you choose. In Australia, JetCharge carries the Z.E. Ready certification; for more information about Jetcharge visit their website.
The Renault Z.E. vehicles use lithium-ion batteries, offering great performance. It is very simple to charge, even when it is fully discharged. It can also be recycled at the end of its life
Every kilometre you cover is cheaper in a Z.E. than in a combustion engine vehicle. The savings you achieve depend on your electricity rate, but fully charging Kangoo Z.E. could cost from as little as $3, while ZOE can achieve a full charge from $8. Maintenance: With no moving parts in the engine, vehicle maintenance is also substantially less than an equivalent petrol or diesel powered vehicle.
Payload has a nominal effect on the vehicle’s range. The driver’s driving style will have a much greater impact on the range of the vehicle.
Both Electric Vehicles are being offered directly by Renault Australia to business-to-business and business-to-government customers only for the time being.
