Order books open for Renault Scenic E-tech electric SUV, price and specs announced
The order books have opened in Australia for the Renault Scenic E-Tech electric SUV.
From today, customers can place a deposit on the Renault Australia website or visit their nearest Renault showroom to secure a vehicle from the first shipments.
As is the case in Europe, the Renault Scenic E-Tech will be available in Australia with a choice of three model grades, two battery capacities and two electric motor outputs.
Australian prices and specifications have been released for the Techno, Techno Long Range, and the flagship Esprit Alpine.
The top-of-the-range Renault Scenic Esprit Alpine will lead the local roll-out, ahead of the arrival of other variants.
Introducing new levels of connectivity for Renault in Australia, all models will come standard with over-the-air updates, access to the MyRenault App, and an embedded Google system that enables voice controls for up to 70 functions in the car – beyond the infotainment system.
Adding to its French flair, the sound modes on the premium audio system in the new Scenic were designed by Jean Michel Jarre – the French composer, performer and producer known for his iconic trance music.
Jean Michel Jarre also composed the pedestrian warning sound emitted at low speeds, such as when driving through shopping centre car parks.
As previously highlighted, the Renault Scenic badge has been revived in Australia after a 15-year absence.
The last time a Renault Scenic was sold in Australia it was available as a five-seat family car (2009) or a seven-seat people mover (2010).
While the Scenic name has a proud history with Renault, the new-generation model – a five-seat electric SUV – showcases the company’s future technology.
“Earlier this year we announced Renault Australia would introduce six new or updated models over the next 18 months,” said Glen Sealey, the General Manager of Renault Australia.
“The Renault Scenic E-Tech is just the start of our revitalisation program and we are delighted to be able to introduce this award-winning car in Australia.
“In a sea of ‘same-same’ SUVs, the Renault Scenic E-Tech stands out for its French flair, cutting edge design, and easy-to-use technology.
“Today we are opening the order books and announcing price and specs for each model so customers can do their research and order before deliveries commence later this year or early next year.
“We will initially launch with the Renault Scenic Esprit Alpine before other model variants follow soon after.”
