Celebrating 125 years

1 October, 1898 brothers Louis, Marcel and Fernand Renault had a vision of offering everybody the best in automotive mobility and began what is now one of the best known French brands in the automotive industry, across the world. So 1 October 2023 marked the start of a particularly special year in Renault history, celebrating 125 years of innovation and technological advancements.

From the first production car, the "Voiturette", equipped with a revolutionary "direct drive" gearbox, to 2024 where our fully electric vehicles are produced with sustainable materials and full of advanced safety programs that 1898 could only ever dream about. Renault celebrates this vision, looking towards a future with a focus on making our technological progress available to all.

With so many milestones and achievements through the years, locally one of our favourites was achieving the inaugural Wheels Car of the Year in 1963 with Renault 8.

125 years, and the best is yet to come.
