Renault announces MY21 updates
January 7, 2021
Renault Australia has released details of the MY21 Koleos and Megane range due to arrive in March.
“Koleos had a great result in 2020, recording a total of 2,408 sales in a year that presented the toughest selling conditions in memory,” said Renault Australia Managing Director Anouk Poelmann.
“It set a new watermark for Renault sales, with 620 sales in November as more Australian customers realised its outstanding mix of performance, safety and value for money.
“The upgraded version adds a raft of new creature comforts and we are confident the momentum built in 2020 will continue when the new model arrives.”
The MY21 Koleos will continue to be available in three specification levels: Life, Zen and Intens. The MY21 update sees LED headlamps and auto high/low beam added to Life and Zen.
The range-topping Intens now comes standard with a host of new features including black Nappa leather upholstery, driver’s seat with memory and massage function, new headrests and cushion length adjustment for driver and front passenger, side-mirror tilt feature when reversing, dynamic turn signals, LED reversing lights and hill descent control (4x4).
Recommended retail pricing for Koleos Life remains at $32,990 while Zen and Intens models have increased by $300.
The MY21 Megane R.S. will focus squarely on performance with a revised line-up consisting of the range-topping Trophy variant only.
“The Trophy has clearly established its territory as the weapon of choice for Renault hot hatch fans. It continues to demonstrate the passion Renault inspires among performance vehicle customers.
“The additional features in the new MY21 version are set to add more fans to the growing Megane fraternity,” said Poelmann.
Power will come from the F1-inspired 1.8L turbocharged engine delivering 221kW and available with a choice of 6-speed MT and 6-speed EDC transmissions.
Additional features in the MY21 update include the addition of low-speed autonomous emergency braking system (AEBS), a 10-inch driver display (vs seven-inch), a 9.3-inch portrait touchscreen (vs 8.7-inch) with the EasyLink multimedia system and a new shark-fin style antenna.
Customers can option up the award-winning Megane hot hatch with a panoramic sunroof and a performance package complete with Recaro seats and Fuji lightweight alloy wheels.
Recommended retail pricing for the Megane R.S. models has increased by $500.
